Corfu Old Town

Many nations and cultures have influenced Corfu’s town but only the Venetians’ culture and architecture is still evident within the town of Corfu to such an extent. Some of the highlights of the town include the Old Fortress and Spianada square where still cricket games take place, the Liston and red-domed tower of St. Spyridon, who is the patron saint of Corfu. Do not forget to visit the Palace of St. Michael and St.George, that houses the Museum of Asian Art today and the Museum of Banknotes. Of course, the most amazing thing within the town of Corfu is to wander through the alleyways, the so-called kadounia and browse in gift and souvenir shops.
